Carlo Ancelotti says Manchester United deserve to be champions after last night's defeat.
United have still only dropped two points at home all season, the platform upon which Ferguson's 12th championship has been built.
"This game was important for us to fight for the title but today we didn't do our best," said Ancelotti.
"Manchester United played better than us and they deserved to win. Also I think they deserved to win the title because they played better compared to the other teams.
"Sir Alex is a fantastic coach and a fantastic man, He is doing a fantastic job here atManchester United, and I hope he will continue, not just for English football but for football in general.
"I have a lot of respect for him."
