Dalglish needs Fergie favour to land Stoke captain Shawcross

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish will have to work with Manchester United rival Sir Alex if he wants to land Stoke City captain Ryan Shawcross.
It's emerged this morning that Dalglish will push on with predecessor Roy Hodgson's plans to sign the former United trainee.
However, United have first refusal on Shawcross, which was confirmed by Potters boss Tony Pulis last week.
Liverpool owners NESV have pledged transfer funds to Dalglish as the Scot looks to re-build his new squad, and whilst an attacking foil for Fernando Torres is thought to be a priority, a defender is also high on the agenda.
Fergie, himself, has been linked with a move for Shawcross this season.
