Darren Fletcher is close to agreeing a new four-year contract with Manchester United
The 26-year-old has been one of the lower-paid first-team regulars at Old Trafford.
But boss Sir Alex Ferguson wants to bring him in line with the club’s other top earners and is offering a package worth around £80,000 a week.
Fletcher joined United as a trainee 10 years ago and has gone on to win three Premier League titles since making his first-team debut in 2003 in a Champions League clash with Basle.
