Newcastle United fullback Jose Enrique is a surprise target for Manchester United.
The People says with left-back Patrice Evra stalling on a new United deal, Fergie is eyeing Spanish star Enrique, 24, as a potential replacement.
Evra’s contract expires at the end of next season and the French international continues to be linked with Real Madrid.
But, true to form, Ferguson is taking no chances and checked out Enrique in Toon’s 1-0 win at Wigan last Sunday.
