Blackburn Rovers attacker El Hadji Diouf has revealed he has a fan in Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Former Rovers manager Sam Allardyce is close to Ferguson.
And Diouf revealed to the News of the World: "Sam told me everyone in England knew I had been playing the best of my career here.
"He told me Sir Alex Ferguson commented that he had never seen me play as well as I have this season.
"And Sam is not the type of manager to tell you things for effect."
