David Gill on who he favours to succeed SAF and why Man Utd sell Ronaldo to Madrid.

Manchester United chief David Gill has hinted Jose Mourinho would be his choice to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson.
He admitted he was a big fan of Real Madrid coach Mourinho, who is one of the favourites to succeed Ferguson when the Scot eventually retires.
Gill said: “Alex is on a rolling contract.
He is on the record as saying he will continue to manage as long as he keeps fit, so, while we follow what is happening in football, I am not going to sit here today and say who we have in mind.
“We don’t know what the time frame is. I am sure there are some other good managers around. He (Mourinho) is a good manager.”
David Gill also insists they're capable of competing at the top end of the market.
Gills says there's money available for a major signing.
He was asked if United could compete with their neighbours if a player like Real Madrid’s Kaka became available.
Gill said: "If we wanted to. Over time, if you follow Manchester United, you will know we have rarely bought the world star.
"We have made them world stars by playing for United and that will continue."
He added: "We showed with Wayne Rooney that we will pay the appropriate amount to keep players."
Meanwhile, Gill admits they didn't want to sell Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid.
Gill reckons United didn’t have a choice but to sell Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid for £80m in 2009.
But he reckons their desire to keep Wayne Rooney shows they still have pulling power.
He said: “We didn’t want to sell him (Ronaldo), but he was going to go anyway. It wasn’t about money or his contract.
“We showed with Wayne Rooney we will pay the appropriate amount to keep players."
