That's weird..SAF deny having bid for Sneijder.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has brushed off reports that he tabled a bid for Wesley Sneijder.

Although he's yet to add to his squad since bringing Javier Hernandez to the club before the World Cup, the Red Devils boss insists he's happy with the tools he's got at his disposal.

Injuries to Gary Neville and Owen Hargreaves must be a concern but Ferguson still appears to be in no rush to spend the money still allegedly available from the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid.

"I believe the squad is stronger than last season with the younger players having another year under their belts," stressed Ferguson.

"I don't know where those reports about Sneijder came from. How can anybody turn me down when I haven't even made a bid?"

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti had fuelled the flames of the Sneijder story but the midfielder quickly indicated he wants to remain with the European champions.

Ferguson's stance on his first-team may be true with regards to the likes of Rafael, Antonio Valencia and Nani but Neville, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Rio Ferdinand and Edwin van der Sar are at the other end of the scale.
