SAF shows off his skills in NY charity event

Sir Alex Ferguson showed his players that he isn't afraid to show off his skills when he appeared at a charity event in New York.

Ferguson and several United stars took part in the Million Dollar Challenge, where they tried to hit a target masked as a giant watch to raise money for UNICEF.

The event, organised by the luxury watchmaker Hublot, was attended by Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Darren Fletcher and Edwin van der Sar.

With so much talent on show, it was perhaps a surprise that United's goalkeeper Van der Sar was reportedly closest to the target.

United have already beaten Celtic and Philadelphia Union on their tour of Canada and the United States, and they next play Kansas City Wizards on Sunday.

Ferguson has cut a relaxed figure on tour, despite some fans expressing discontent that the club won't be spending big money on new players for the second successive summer. The long-serving boss has said he is happy with his current squad.

Ferguson has been United manager since 1986, and has enjoyed an extraordinary run of success, that has completely altered the landscape of English football.

He has won 11 Premier League titles, two European Cups and five FA Cups during his memorable time at Old Trafford.
