Wayne Rooney has been hit in the hip pocket after losing his deal with Coca Cola.
The Mirror says yesterday the drinks giant confirmed the £600,000-a-year deal is over. It was claimed they made the decision earlier this year.
A spokesman said: “We mutually agreed that we would not renew our relationship. We wish Wayne well in his career.”
A source close to Rooney last night shrugged off the loss of the Coca-Cola deal – and even hinted that he might now switch to rival company Pepsi.
The source said: “There are quite a lot of offers which are coming in, and some of those are other drinks companies.”
Rooney’s other big sponsors Nike (£1m a year) and EA Sports (£250,000) were both standing by him last night.
