Ballack tips Bastian Schweinsteiger to fit in well at Man Utd. He didn't even mention Chelsea!

Germany captain Michael Ballack has said that his compatriot, Bastian Schweinsteiger would fit in well at Manchester United or Real Madrid .

The influential midfielder has been at Bayern Munich his entire career, winning a clutch of trophies along the way.  Last season, the 26-year-old helped the German giants to the Champions League final before then enjoying an excellent World Cup.

With his contract expiring in 2012, speculation has increased over Schweinsteiger’s future, with Chelsea and Manchester United thought to be heading the queue for his signature.  The player himself has indicated that he would like a move abroad.

Ballack believes that the time is right for Schweinsteiger to follow in the footsteps of Mesut Ozil and Sami Khedira and leave the Bundesliga for pastures new.

Ballack told Kicker magazine, "He has taken on the responsibility placed in him and is now in a phase when he is looking to reach the zenith of his career,
"He took a huge step forwards at the World Cup.

"He has presence, authority, personality, performance and goals - he has everything."
Speculating on what the future might hold for Schweinsteiger, Ballack said, "Only he will be able to feel what is right for him for the future,

"Of course every footballer is attracted to certain things and Bastian will feel these also. But there are not that many big clubs around and Bayern is one of them.

"On the other hand, Real or Manchester United are both attractive and he would fit in well at both clubs."

With the long-term future of Owen Hargreaves seemingly in doubt, there could be room for a midfielder such as Schweinsteiger at Old Trafford.
