Gazzetta dello Sport says United are eyeing goalkeeping pair Pierluigi Gollini and Luca Lezzerini, star midfielder Leonardo Capezzi and the twins Xavier and Saverio Madigali.
All five youngsters have been capped at U16 and U17 level by Italy.
Gollini and Capezzi are thought of the pick of the bunch. Keeper Gollini is also wanted by Juventus and AC Milan.
It's also mooted United will send some of their youth team in part exchange.
