Does anyone know whether hard copy of Labor approval is required for filing Form 1-140. My Labor status shows certified, but my lawyer is conveying that they have not received my hard copy of approval to process Form I-140 and 485. Can some one tell me if we can take a print out of Labor approval from online status and use it for filing 140.

Getting Bernanke/media support will never be an alternative to IV efforts. They will, at best, complement it.
I stand corrected that we still need to send letters and faxes to Senators and Bush. But a little push from the Fed won't hurt IV's efforts, would they?

... Per the USCIS website, they are suppose to process even the first week of Mar 2006 although the Aug VB says it is 01MAR06 ...

First your PD has to be current for USCIS to look into your RD.
Not quite, as I understand it, if your PD is not current, your AOS will continue processing and will eventually get to a "approved, pending visa number" state. You can pretty much be in this state for some time, and then when PD does become current (as happened from May through July this year with the significant shift in PDs in the bulletins) there will be a massive approval rate of all those pending applications.
USCIS doesn't stop the application process just because your PD is no longer current
This is how USCIS got through 60k unused visas in a staggeringly short time. There were a LOT of applications that were ready to go, they were just waiting for those numbers. USCIS didn't all of a suddenly quadruple their efficiency in processing :)

With me having a pd even prior to of Mar 2002-EB3I, I thought I will join hands with IV to make something happen. To the extent I went and joined the IV chapter too.
Unfortunately, starting with the forum to most of the news that is being discussed seems to be not related to immigration at all. Example, accidents, investments, real estate. I feel the admin should be able to control and strictly adhere to what ImmigrationVoice stands for and delete any other unrelated threads.
Anyway, long story short, I feel IV has lost its focus and feels like for people who are looking at a proper approach to resolving problems, the web site does not give any reason or confidence, to follow or join hands for IV activities.
Just my opinion. Feel free to agree to disagree whoever would like to.
Not trying to blame anybody here, but sharing a viewpoint. In my opinion IV was great sometime back, but feel now there is a lack of direction.
I understand there could be lot of negative & positive comments about my reply here or me joining activities etc or not joining IV initiatives etc. I will explain my stance on those later.

I think we should start a Employer Hall of shame and nominate employers who are either cheating the employees or the Immigration system.
This will help future employees and the immigration community as whole.

Yes. It will be very helpful for the future employees falling into Jaws of the greedy employers.

Best way to get more immigrants to participate in advocacy efforts by immigrationvoice.org for legal immigration is by communicating to international student organizations of various universities around virginia, maryland, washingtondc,west virginia north and south carolina. Arranging busses for the students is not a bad idea. Obama has done something. He made sure that we are in this pell mall because democrats are not getting additional 12 million supporters. Had he been only 50% passionate towards immigration as he was towards Health Care, we as well as millions of others would have been out of this mess. Lets see :). I am expecting a surprise before 2012 elections.

No issues at all. I had to wait a little longer as I was referred to a special processing Q. They just looked at my passport and the two AP copies (nor I have shown them anything more myself) I received from USCIS. They stamped on both and returned me only one copy. I-94 issued for one year from the date of entry.

This is not even good for long term due to hefty financial charges of insurance companies, you would not know about this until you buy one ,my sincere advice would be do not even get into this crap in US. these guys rip you off.
As I mentioned before Prudential charged 70% premiums as a finance charge every month and only 30% went to savings. It would never make sense and do n't listen to people who never owned these products before.

Thanks for the feedback.. i will most likely be doing the same...wait for PP 140 to comeback and convert. I think its safer to work on a 3yr h1b than ead. But then while filing for h1b ext the dates must be retrogressed and not current.

Have we considered putting up ads in Indian/Chinese community
magazines like India Currents, Siliconeer ? It might work out to be
cheaper than online ads on Sulekha. I presume these magazines have
pretty good readership since most of them are distributed for free.
Also, it would give us good visibility if we could get one of these magazines
to do an article on EB retrogression and mention IV efforts as part of it.

This is my third post regarding this topic. I have made my contibution and urged all my friends to do the same. [B]Can we sell some add space[B]. If we can have more broad immigartion related topics like proceesing times, more people visit and we can probably sell some add space

IV is not yet a very high traffic portal. Usually ad space prices range from a dollar to couple dollars (if that!) for every 10,000 impressions. So this may not be a practical thing to do, given the very low returns for the associated effort.

can you hold these meetings on saturdays? weekdays are impossible for me with a 1.5 hr commute (common with most tri-state folks).
informal get togethers can be held at the flushing hindu center on sunday evening, at least for those who are hindus living in queens. (the majority here, i guess)
The idea was to make it easy for majority folks who work in Manhattan and surrounding areas. We were also concerned that the tri state folks travel long distances and work long hours during weekdays will need the weekends for themselves and a Friday night after work must be the best time.
But, yes, based on majority of the folks's response, we plan to do one more on a Saturday, but not in Flushing, location will be decided soon.
