Thailand goalkeeper hopes to replace Edwin Van der Sar at Manchester United. =p

Manchester United granted a trial last week to Thai goalkeeper Kawin Thamasatchan, who says that he dreams of replacing his hero Edwin Van der Sar at Manchester United .

The 20-year-old has been recommended to Manchester United by Red Devils' legend Bryan Robson, who now coaches the Thailand national team.  Thamasatchan has won seven international caps and Robson has been impressed enough to help him secure a trial at Old Trafford.

Robson told the Bankok Post, ''If I feel Thai players have got a chance of playing in Europe, there is no reason for me not to tell a few of my old mates at Manchester United . I've spoken to goalkeeping coach Eric Steele about Kawin,
''He is young but he definitely has the potential to develop into a top goalkeeper.''

As for Thamasatchen himself, he has said that he is not just excited at his opportunity, but wants to replace his goalkeeping hero, Edwin Van der Sar , who at 40-years-old is expected to retire at the end of the season.

Thamasatchen also spoke to the Bankok Post and said, ''I am looking forward to going to Manchester United . Van der Sar is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and he is one of my heroes,

''To one day replace him as Manchester United goalkeeper is my dream.''

The young keeper is certainly highly thought of in Thailand.  He began his career at Raj Pracha but soon moved to Muang Thong United and helped them win the Thai Premier League at the first attempt following promotion.
