Ferguson convinced landing £20M Arsenal ace Nasri in days

Sir Alex Ferguson is convinced of prising Samir Nasri from Arsenal this week.

The Mirror says United are ready to make their move for Nasri with a view to sealing a deal before pre-season training begins next week.

Arsenal could find it hard to resist a £20million offer for a player in the final year of his contract at the Emirates.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has already made it clear Nasri will not be allowed to run his contract down and leave on a free as midfielder Mathieu Flamini did three years ago.

Wenger has been trying to persuade Nasri that the club’s six-year spell without trophies will come to an end next season.

Nasri would provide a simple solution to United boss Sir Alex Ferguson’s search for a new midfielder.

Agent reveals Ferguson is a big fan of AC Milan signing El Shaarawy

Sir Alex Ferguson is a big fan of new AC Milan signing Stephan El Shaarawy.
The Italy youth international has just left Genoa to sign with Milan.
And his agent, Fabio Parisi revealed: "I want to tell a story. I have a great relationship with Man Utd and, in particular, with Alex Ferguson and I remember a few years ago, as well as (Marek) Hamsik, I advised him about El Shaarawy and he assured me that they were following him.
"But now I have to make my congratulations to AC Milan for a big purchase just completed."

Man Utd post scouts to check on FC Cartagena teen Hicham Khaloua

Exciting FC Cartagena starlet Hicham Khaloua is attracting Premier League interest.
The 16 year-old has a hugely impressive record at youth level and last season scored over 40 goals.
Skysports.com says Man Utd is watching the youngster.
Indeed all four English giants were represented on the weekend as Khaloua turned out for his local Murcia regional team.

Molde coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has urged Sir Alex to take a look at his two American prospects.
The United legend believes his team's youngsters Joshua Gatt and Sean Cunningham deserve a crack at Old Trafford.
Molde winger Gatt, 19, and 18-year-old left back Cunningham are regarded highly by Solskjaer, who has told United they should take a closer look at the duo.
Ferguson is likely to invite the pair to preseason later this summer.

Ferguson pulls back from Sneijder talks over morale concerns

Manchester United are pulling back from talks for  Wersley Sneijder.
Milan sources say Sir Alex is reconsidering his push for the Dutch ace.
While happy to meet Inter's £35 million asking price, Ferguson is reluctant to match Sneijder's personal demands.
The midfielder wants £200,000-a-week to move to Old Trafford and Ferguson has concerns that would unsettle the dressing room.

Man Utd watching Ajax fullback Boilesen

Manchester United are tracking Ajax fullback Nicolai Boilesen.
Boilesen has caught the eye of Sir Alex during Denmark's U21 Euros campaign.
Ajax have moved to stave off United's interest by offering the defender a new deal.
"He deserves a new contract," an Ajax source told talkSPORT. "It ends in 2013 but it's good to add more years. We want him here - not anywhere else."

De Gea: It's not my price that worries me, it's succeeding Van der Sar at Manchester United!

David De Gea finds the challenge of succeeding Edwin van der Sar at Manchester United far more daunting than becoming the most expensive goalkeeper in the history of the Barclays Premier League.

The deal will make the 20-year-old the second most expensive goalkeeper ever, behind Gianluigi Buffon of Juventus, but De Gea is not fazed by the price tag.

He said: ‘I’m not interested in numbers, clauses and prices. Real value is that which you show on the pitch, not what they say you are worth. Money is secondary and while being that expensive is not something I like particularly, what really interests me is how much worth people think I have on the pitch.’

De Gea is more concerned with following in the footsteps of 40-year-old Van der Sar who retired at the end of last season.

He added: ‘That a team like United think of you as a replacement for a goalkeeper as strong as Van der Sar is great, but I have to keep fighting and working because I’m just at the start of my career and to get to his level will take a lot of effort.

'Hopefully I will still be playing at his age. You need strength, luck and to take great care of your body, because football consumes you.’

Asked how he and his girlfriend, Spanish pop star Edurne, would cope with the increased media spotlight, De Gea added: ‘I don’t think it will be a problem. Edurne will keep singing ballads and I’ll keep stopping balls. Everyone else can say or do what they like.’

How good is the "new Chicharito" @ Erick Torres. Scout report reveals all.

Described as the "new Chicharito", Erick Torres has impressed since stepping into the Manchester United striker’s boots at Chivas at the tender age of 18.

Unsurprisingly, the youngster has been on the radar of the Red Devils ever since breaking into the Mexican side's first team last November and it would appear that United are looking to strike gold in the region for the second time in a year.

Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United have built up a good relationship with the club following their dealings last summer for Hernandez. However, it is unlikely that Chivas will be as willing to sell the teenager given the success of the Hernandez since his transfer to Old Trafford a year ago.

The talented striker, who is nicknamed El Cubo, caught the eye of the national press ever since he made his debut.

He has quick feet, good positional sense and plenty of skill. He shares one trait particularly in common with Hernandez in that he likes to move the ball quickly, playing one and two touch football and then, like Chicharito, comes alive in the penalty area.

He scored six goals in 19 appearances last season since making his debut against Monterrey in November and is now trying to earn a place in the Mexican Under-20 national team that is due to play at the Under-20 World Cup in August.

How much will he cost?

The owner of Chivas, Jorge Vergara, has made it clear that he wants the teenager to remain at Chivas next season. He said “El Cubo has to continue with Chivas, not only because of his age, but to give the team what the team has given to him.

“I don’t know anything officially about Manchester United's interest but El Cubo has a lot of great qualities and I wouldn't be surprised if Ferguson liked him and I will be pleased if he is interested as well."

Chivas are likely to have learned from the sale of Hernandez to the Red Devils, and will not want to settle for anything less than £10-12 million. Sir Alex Ferguson once quipped of Chicharito “we’ve stolen him”, and Vergara knows that they can’t afford to have lightning strike twice.

The Mexican side will try their upmost to hold on to the striker until at least the next transfer window in January, but if the right offer comes in they would find it difficult to turn it down.

Where would he fit in?

Torres' game would certainly suit the fast pace of the Premier League. He’s got quick feet, can score with any part of his body - something Chicharito took to extremes last season - and has a terrific attitude, much like his predecessor.

Ferguson has always hailed the dedication of Chicharito in terms of his work ethic and his constant willingness to learn and improve his game. Sir Alex would get the same characteristics and enthusiasm with Torres.

Dimitar Berbatov is being linked with a move away from Old Trafford after falling out of favour with Ferguson towards the latter end of the season and being left out of the squad for the Champions League final last month won't have helped their relationship, despite finishing joint-top goalscorer in the Premier League last season with 20 goals.

This could leave room for another striker in the Scot’s squad next season alongside Wayne Rooney, Michael Owen and Hernandez, as well as the returning Danny Welbeck and Federico Macheda after loan spells.

The Manchester United manager's pedrigree in the transfer market has been dented in recent times following the signings of Gabriel Obertan and Bebe, but the success of Chicharito shows the value of taking chances.

Torres is still quite raw and would definitely need time to develop; this would certainly be a signing for the future.

Ferguson makes personal call to Sanchez: Join us!

Sir Alex Ferguson has intensified his pursuit of Udinese star Alexis Sanchez.
The Daily Mail says Ferguson is understood to have made a personal call to Udinses's Sanchez to persuade him to join United ahead of Barcelona.
The Chile forward is keen on playing in Spain but Barca are struggling to match Udinese's £30m valuation with possible makeweight Bojan Krkic keen on joining Roma if he has to leave.
Ferguson is close to Sanchez's agent and remains hopeful of bringing him to Old Trafford.

Lens defender Varane: Man Utd or Bayern Munich

Lens defender Raphael Varane is considering offers from Man Utd and Bayern Munich.
Varane admits he could sign for another club and be loaned back, which may yet see him joining either United or Bayern.
"Am I going to improve in Ligue 1, and reach a new step? I have to make a choice. I can sign aboard and be loaned, or join another Ligue 1 club, or even remain at Lens," he said.
"We talked about a departure and it seems there is no hostility from the club, even if I remain under contract.
"Interest from Bayern or Man Utd? It is greatly flattering to hear those names, and I even ask myself if that is really about me.
"But I can't dream. I have to think about it and join a club that will allow me to improve.
"Remaining in Ligue 1 seems to be the more sensible choice. The most important thing to me is time spent on the pitch."

Varane asks Man Utd to delay transfer talks

Lens defender Raphael Varane remains a target for Man Utd.
The Guardian says Sir Alex has also lined up a potential £8m move for the 18-year-old Lens defender Varane.
Phil Jones's arrival on a five-year contract is unlikely to dilute that interest, especially with United's defensive options being reduced by the imminent departures of Wes Brown and John O'Shea to Sunderland.
Varane has offers elsewhere and has asked for permission to wait until he has finished his baccalaureate exams before making his decision.

Man Utd post scouts to track Swiss kid Xherdan Shaqiri

Manchester United are interested in FC Basel star Xherdan Shaqiri.
The exciting winger was watched by United scouts at Wembley on Saturday, says Blick.
The 19 year-old is also interesting Liverpool and is considering his options this summer.
No move for Shaqiri is expected until after the U21 European Championships, but his camp are aware that United will be monitoring him in Denmark.

Agent of Villa star Young at Man Utd HQ

Manchester United are putting the final touches on their deal for Aston Villa winger Ashley Young.
The Daily Mail says Sir Alex is convinced he will win the race for Liverpool target Young.
The 25-year-old’s agent, Eric Walters, was understood to have been at United’s training ground at Carrington on Wednesday to finalise the deal.
Young is said to want the move to Old Trafford tied up before his wedding this weekend.

Agent reveals Ferguson still wants Defour

The agent of Standard Leige midfielder Steven Defour admits Sir Alex is a big fan of the Belgian.
Defour has been mooted as a replacement at United for the retired Paul Scholes.
Paul Stefani told Calciomercatoweb.it: "Man Utd? Ferguson admires him very much and when the player was injured he sent a letter to him as encouragement.
"His brother (Martin Ferguson) came to see him twice after he recovered from injury.
"A preference?
"Who would not like to play for a club like United, but Juventus and AC Milan are also great teams. He has no preference."

Man Utd must wait for Young wedding to close deal

Manchester United fans may have to wait until next week to see Ashley Young arrive at Old Trafford.
PA Sport reports the deal may not be finalised until after the winger's wedding this weekend.
Villa are expected to double the £9 million they paid Watford for Young four-and-a-half years ago.
United and Villa have been in talks to try and complete a deal for the England player.
But it is understood the finer points have still to be thrashed out and that may mean the transfer not going through until after Young has tied the knot in his native Hertfordshire on Saturday.

But the Premier League champs have not lost interest in Caprari.
