1) Fast-track GC process for Masters degree holders from US universities. This will be the least controversial, boost admissions (and money) flowing into universities, and clear up backlog in regular GC queue. Its a win-win and most senators, congressmen have voiced support for it already. We can get very good support from University lobbyists also (if they exist!!).
I fully agree with this idea, but unfortunately this has been discussed for a long time now but none (including IV CORE) seems to be interested in pursuing this further, although we all know that this has higher changes of approval. And I am sure even the folks with no MS from US will support if for simple reason that it will help them as well if backlog and crowed is reduced by whatever means. So I assume we all (US Degree Holder or otherwise) will support this -- still no actions..

i guess desi3933's chart has 7 Day EMA, 14 Day EMA, & 40 Day EMA (on closing prices) on indicators (based on annotations on top of charts).
You need not stick to desi3933 strategy, get well-educated first about markets (equities, options, futures, forex) & indicators (MACD, EMAs, Sto etc) and do some paper trading/virtual trading - like vse.marketwatch.com - and then you would need to come up with your own strategy based on your level of risk, time you can invest etc.
Again based on desi3933's risk level, he chose futures - based on your risk level you may stick to ETFs SPY (S&P), SDS (inverse S&P), SSO (Double S&P) or options on these ETFs.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Is there a reason why you choose e-mini as opposed to etf's or stocks. BTW, I am not knowledgeable on e-mini. I couldn't even find the symbol in TdA. Looking at your chart, it seems you trade full time ??
Can you explain what are the three average that you have on the chart and theire durations

Yep. It would be good for EB3/2 - India-PD 2007 filer considering canadian immigration simultaneously...ofcourse do not rush now for filing Canadian PR - As Canada generally gives you PR witin 2 years and by that time 2007 filers may not have passed FBI check for their 485 here..If the way things are going I see at least 5 years wait for 2007 (India)filers.
BharatPremi,
Can you guesstimate how long it would take for EB3/India, Mar 2005 (Pre-PERM), Consular Processing to get GC?
Appreciate your time.

-Visa Recapture
-File I-485 irrespective of PD
-Stop counting dependents against quota
-USCIS backlog should be transparent so one can predict his turn.
-Remove Country cap. Its unfair for people born in india to wait decades while other nationals get their visa almost immediately.
Family reunion should be very important. I am separated from my wife for 3 years now because of Jul'2007 fiasco. Sent many letters to Senators, President, vice president but nobody is bothered to look at my case

Recapture.
Recapture.
Recapture.
Recapture.
Please do not make me say "Recapture" a million times to get my point across.
Spillover is not going to help EB3-I much.
I read on some posts that an executive order may be sufficient to recapture lost visas.
I agree with you. Recapture is ony way out. Spill over was done from 2002 - 2006 and EB3 I was still struck in 2001. Adding 20k visa would barely move EB3 I With all the labor subs that happened in 2007 there are many more people that have jumped the lines. All Spill over can do is barely move Eb3 from 2001 to early / mid 2002 that is all. So for folks post 2004 PD you are struck because by the time your PD gets spillover there will be EB2 I & C fighting for the same visa# that you need. So spill over helps a small section either Eb3 I with PD between 2001 - 2003 or EB2 with PD 2005 - CURRENT. For all others only real chance is recapture

An idea:
Is it possible to recite the oath of citizenship in front of the senate en-masse? And maybe get some reporters to report the event..
Another, letter campaign, in which people will sign on the oath and snail mail to WH and also local senators
These might bring attention to us.. but feel free to knock it down (or ignore) if sounds absurd

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - U.S. Catholic bishops on Wednesday urged the U.S. Congress to resolve differences on immigration reform and seize a "historic moment" to give all of the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants a path to citizenship.
Meeting in Los Angeles for their bi-annual conference, the bishops said an enforcement-only approach to immigration had failed and that stronger border fences and a piecemeal approach would do nothing to deter those seeking to find work in the United States.
"Over the past 12 years, our government has spent $25 billion on enforcement of our border. During the same period, the number of undocumented in the nation has nearly doubled," said Bishop Gerald Barnes of San Bernardino, who heads the U.S. Catholic Bishops committee on immigration.
"We urge congressional leaders and the President to seize this historic moment and enact a just and humane immigration measure," Barnes told a news conference.
"Either fix it, or five years from now there will be 20 million illegal immigrants here," said Los Angeles Cardinal Roger Mahony, whose vow to disobey any laws that would criminalize illegal immigrants and those who help them has made him a leading voice in the national debate.
Lawmakers are struggling to reconcile a bill in the House of Representatives that focuses strictly on border enforcement with a Senate bill that would also create a temporary work program denounced by many conservatives as equivalent to an amnesty for illegal immigrants.
The bishops said all undocumented workers currently in the United States should be given a "viable and workable earned path to citizenship," not just those who have been here longest.
They also backed a temporary worker program and reforms that would reduce family immigration backlogs. Continued...
And now the church is taking this up?? I guess the illegals are not only potential vote-bank, but conversion candidates too.

I think not only that this is a nice idea, but also that it is a very smart idea.
Everybody knows that there are MANY, MANY immigrants in this Country, and if the GC holders could vote potentially immediately after getting the GC (if it is already 10 years that they are legally in USA) it would be a very strong point, under election, to push a reform of the current law.
I have been a legal immigrant (F1 and H1-B) for the last 9 years, and still waiting for my Labor Certification approval. This means I will become a US citizen after what? 20 years I am legally in this Country? Approximately, yes!
There are lot of support and response for this thread and can Core IV team consider this to be included in their Phase 2 campaign?. It will be an added feature for our to be legal immigrant community. ^^ Bump^^

Stupid thought: can USCIS sell spillover visas at premium (say $5k or $10k) rather than distributing them in a socialistic way :D .. even @ $5k, USCIS will gain $200 million in 2010 itself :) And this selling be based purely on Priority Date, neither on the category of EB nor on country. Purely Priority-Date based - just straight out to tackle retrogression overall.

I efiled the EAD application and in the confirmation page, I got instructions to mail supporting documents to NSC. I mailed copy of the efiled receipt, copy of current EAD card which expired end of July 2010 and a copy of I-485 receipt.
My question is - are things different for efiled applications?

Day one to day last of the month
The PDs in the visa bulletin are valid until the next visa bulletin is released or until the end of that month?
I think they are valid from 1 day of a month to the last day of the month but I hear people say that they are valid only until the next month's bulletin is released.
Any inputs here?
Sorry for posting an unrelated question here, I am still figuring out how to create a new thread.

The driver of the cab talked to me and said there was a man in a suit who forgot his blackberry in my car. And after having heard the hilarious (but obviously stressful to him) stories about him losing his bags and what not, I had no doubt in my mind who it was, so I pointed out to Aman and sure enough thats who it was. :D
I hope he does not forget us - all IV folks - entire community - who depends on this "Great Man who forgets laptops, bags and cell phones"
I am sure "forgetting us will never happen" - he forgets all those things because he "has all of us in his heart" :):):)

I am jumping ahead of the situation here, but I just wanted to see what other members think/know. Assuming that the 90K visa recapture happens, It doesnt take too long for them to be used up in the current situation where there are a lot of people with labors and approved 140's (w/PERM). Not every one will have an oppurtunity to file for a new labor and file for 485. If DOS makes the PD's current / post Mar 2005, wouldn't it be unfair to people who labors are pending for 3 yrs. How does this work out in the previous recapture? HLG doesnt say about numbers being forwarded to the next year though.

Hi,
I am wondering if someone could please clarfiy whether the beneficiary can pay the fee for the H1 B petition and the fee for the lawyer involved in filing the petition.
It will be very helpful if you could please cite an official USCIS document.
Thank you.

It is obvious that DOL backlog center is processing cases with utter disregard to FIFO procedures. Some people with priority dates in 2004 or 2005 have obtained their labor certifications, but some people with priority dates in 2001 or 2002 still do not know what is happening to their cases. If we file lawsuit against DOL on their inability to maintain FIFO procedures, what are the chances of success? Their inability to maintain FIFO procedures has brought great misery in lives of the people who stood in line for so many years so patiently.
Just like the Right to Information act that was passed in India recently, the US also has the "Freedom of Information Act". I think you can ask for documentation from the agency to get information such why its taking so long for your application.
