Sam Allardyce is urging Sir Alex to sign Jose Enrique for Manchester United.
Big Sam signed Enrique for Newcastle United from Villarreal for £6.3 million in 2007.
The People says acting on advice from his big pal, Manchester United boss Ferguson watched Enrique when Newcastle won at Wigan on January 2.
Enrique is inside the final 18 months of his Toon deal.
