Manchester United to make move for Aston Villa's Ashley Young

Sir Alex Ferguson will reportedly make a £20million January bid for Aston Villa's Ashley Young .

Young has so far refused to sign a new contract at Villa Park and has insisted that he will talk about a new deal in the summer but is happy at the club for now.  With Gerard Houllier's side having made little progress since the Frenchman's arrival, Ferguson will offer Young an Aston Villa exit according to The People.

Apparently, Ferguson views Young as a more solid alternative than Ji-sung Park in midfield. With the England international not cup-tied for the Champions League, Ferguson will hope that Young moves to Manchester United in January.

Young has impressed at Aston Villa since arriving from Watford in 2006 and enjoyed another good season last campaign, scoring five goals and contributing eight assists.

Young has already won ten England caps but was not considered for Fabio Capello's World Cup squad.

However, Young would likely view a move to Manchester United as a boost to establish himself in the England side.
